On Monday, June 26, Eastgate was presented with a $1.5 million dollar check by the Board of Mahoning County Commissioners for the ConnectMahoning Rural Broadband kickoff. The American Recovery Plan Act money is intended to be used in creating and improving broadband access for rural communities in Mahoning County which are currently severely lacking in access.
The meeting also featured a presentation by Eastgate's Broadband Coordinator, Steve Kristan and Economic Development Administration Project Manager, Mark Ragozine, who detailed the plans to increase connectivity in these underserved areas.
