The EDA-funded Trumbull County Tourism Bureau Regional Tourism Recovery Plan has been completed. This report provides insights and analysis for Trumbull County, Ohio to support the continued recovery and growth of the travel and tourism industry.
The report is the summary of extensive research and consultations which took place from October 2022 through to May 2023. The report reviews the options for growing visits to Trumbull County and the associated potential economic contribution in the context of current travel and tourism trends – many of which are favorable for positioning and marketing the Trumbull County offering, predominantly to a localized domestic audience and with some potential for the emerging “bleisure” (Business Travel) sector.
The resilience and recovery of Trumbull County post-pandemic to date is in line with overall recovery rates of domestic tourism in general however this project has uncovered a more significant ambition for Trumbull County – not just to recover its position but to create a step change in the visitor approach and significantly enhance the contribution of tourism to the local economy. This is only likely to be achieved through investment in a “game changer” tourism development project.
