Eastgate's 2024 Annual Meeting took place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Stambaugh Auditorium. We celebrated Eastgate's accomplishments in the past year, including the successful funding of all nine Mahoning River dams, awarded ACGP funding, and more.
The event featured Erica Spaid-Patras, Director of Research for Greater Ohio Policy Center, who spoke about housing and repopulation strategy in the Eastgate region.
Laura Beese, ODOT District 4 Design Engineer and John Elliott, Chairman and CEO of Strategic Rail Capital also spoke, expanding upon transportation and economic development programs as part Eastgate Executive Director Jim Kinnick’s updates on Eastgate’s programs and projects.
The event also featured a regional development panel discussion took place - comprised of Guy Coviello, President of Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber; Lynnette Forde, President of The Youngstown Foundation; and Alexa Sweeney Blackann, Interim CEO of Lake To River Economic Development. The panel discussed how each of their organizations takes part in regional development, the challenges of our region, and the importance of collaboration in pursuing opportunities for the region.
