Did your township receive a safety sign grant in 2018 or earlier? You are going to like the newest change to the Township Safety Sign Grant Program!
The Township Safety Sign Grant application is now available through Friday, June 6th. The following groups of townships are eligible to apply:
- Any township which hasn’t received a grant previously
- Any township which received a grant in 2018 or earlier
What can a township receive under the grant?
- Up to $50,000 in safety signs, posts, and hardware (all eligible signs, posts, and hardware are listed on the application)
Townships receive the actual materials delivered directly to their location. This is an on-behalf-of grant, so there is no funding out-of-pocket for the township.
What is required to apply for the grant?
- Complete the eLearning modules which explain how the grant works
- Download your township’s crash map from ODOT’s Map Room
- Review your roadways and crash data to determine what new or upgraded safety signs will improve safety on your roadways
- You can borrow a ball bank indicator from Ohio LTAP to determine the advisory speeds for your signs being ordered
- Fill out the application with your order for signs, posts, and hardware
- Submit the application on or before Friday, June 6th!
