NARC Webinar: Health and the Built Environment

Apr 24, 2018
Increasingly, regional councils are implementing strategies that contribute to the public health of their residents. Among the issues being addressed are affordable housing, equity, water and air quality, smart growth, energy and climate change, food distribution, and so on. The three regions participating in this webinar -- the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), and Eastgate Regional Council of Governments (Eastgate) -- have been working to mitigate the impact of the built environment on public health.
MAPC, DVRPC, and Eastgate are taking over many functions once considered the privy of local public health departments or environmental protection agencies and expanding the focus from one that is local to one that is regional. Join our presenters as we explore the work they are doing and how their work is increasing the overall public health of their regions by mitigating the impact of the built environment.
