2019 Appalachian Ohio Return on Investment (ROI) Report Available

Aug 13, 2020

The newly released 2019 Appalachian Ohio Return on Investment (ROI) Report is now available. The report highlights the accomplishments of the Ohio Appalachian program as a combined effort from each of the four Local Development Districts. The program is funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and the Ohio Governor’s Office of Appalachia (GOA) to provide matching grant funds to fill a gap for eligible applicants in support of projects that meet federal and state program goals. These projects are administered by Ohio’s four Local Development Districts (LDD). The LDDs are: Buckeye Hills Regional Council, Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA) , Ohio Valley Region Development Commission (OVRDC), and Eastgate. In 2019, the Ohio LDDs administered 67 ARC projects with a total project cost of $49.2 Million which resulted in 493 new jobs and another 2,387 jobs retained in the region. See our 2019 Return on Investment report for more information. The cover shot of the report was taken in Boardman, Ohio during a sight visit at the Local 396 Plumbers & Pipefitters training location for their accelerated welder training program that received State Appalachian funding through the Eastgate Regional Job Training Program. (See article on page 15 of ROI.)
