ODOT to Hold Virtual Public Open House for Boardman Intersection Improvements

Aug 23, 2021

The Ohio Department of Transportation is holding a virtual public open house, inviting input as a part of the project development process for possible safety improvements in Boardman Township.

ODOT is studying the SR 7-Market Street/Shields Road/Indianola Road/Brookwood Road intersection and considering safety improvements to address high crash frequencies at the location.

ODOT plans to work to minimize delays and impacts to the surrounding communities, businesses, and residents as much as possible. It is planned to always keep one lane of traffic open in each direction on SR 7/Market Street, Shields Road, and Indianola Road.

The project is currently in the preliminary engineering phase, with design plans expected to be completed by December 2022, and construction expected to begin in Summer or Fall 2023.

The virtual public open house will begin Thursday, Sept. 16, continuing through Friday, October 15. During this period, project information such as a recorded presentation and exhibits of options being considered will be posted, along with information about submitting comments.

More information about participation can be found at www.publicinput.com/e7030, where the open house will be hosted once it begins.
